About Nafsi

A Nairobi community organization with a creative soul

Nafsi Pamoja Organization is a Community Based Organization founded in 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya. “Nafsi” means “soul” in Swahili, and that's the heart of our mission.

Who we are

Bringing together modern artists from Nairobi's informal settlements

Nafsi creates safe spaces where children and youth can express themselves, gain confidence and grow. Every week we run training sessions across Kariobangi, Babadogo, Kibera, Dagoretti, Kivuli and Glad Kids School centres.

Beyond art, we integrate media and information technology as pillars of empowerment, and connect young people globally through cultural exchange. By combining art, media and exchange, Nafsi nurtures creative, resilient and socially conscious young leaders.
