ABOUT US

Nafsi Africa is a Community Based Organization (CBO) in Nairobi Kenya composed of contemporary social artists from around the slums of Nairobi. Nafsi’ is a Swahili word for soul.

The organization uses arts (music, acrobatics, circus, dance, yoga, percussion, theater, crafts and visual arts) to mobilize and reach out to the underprivileged children and young people providing them with an avenue for expression, social dialogue, self awareness in the Community.

OUR METHOD

Nafsi runs consistent training sessions for children in different regions of the city in Kariobangi, Babadogo, Kibera, Dagoretti and Kivuli centers. The team below holds classes every week with the children despite occasional challenges of sustainable resources to keep this going. This involves traveling from their areas of residence to these centers where the children are usually waiting. You can support this program by sponsoring a specific trainer/center. In this way, you can also subscribe and follow up on the progress of the center.
